1. All lessons must be paid in full before your first session. We accept payment via cash or bank transfer. If paying by cash, please have the full amount ready before the lesson begins, as delays may reduce your lesson time.

2. Block Booking Payments

If you pay in advance for a block of lessons but later choose not to complete the full course, any discounts will no longer apply. Lessons taken will be charged at the standard hourly rate.

3. Lesson Duration

Standard lesson durations offered are 1 hour, 1.5 hours, or 2 hours, depending on your preferences and instructor availability.

Crash courses and intensive driving lessons may vary in length and schedule and will be agreed upon in advance based on the package selected.

4. Student Requirements

Students must:
– Hold a valid UK provisional driving licence
– Meet the DVSA eyesight standard: You must be able to read a number plate from 20 metres away (with glasses/contact lenses if needed).

It is your responsibility to keep JavsDrivingSchool informed of any changes to your licence or eyesight.

5. Pick-Up and Drop-Off Locations

If you require your driving lesson to start or finish at a location other than your registered home address, you must inform JavsDrivingSchool at least 24 hours in advance. Changes requested with less than 24 hours’ notice may not be accommodated and could result in a shortened lesson if extra travel time is needed.

6. Cancellations by the Pupil

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule any lesson. If less than 24 hours’ notice is
given, JavsDrivingSchool instructors reserve the right to charge for the full lesson.

7. Cancellations by the Instructor

If your instructor cancels a lesson at short notice (e.g., due to vehicle issues), you will not be charged. Your lesson will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

8. Driving Test Car Use

Your JavsDrivingSchool instructor reserves the right to withdraw the use of the tuition vehicle for your practical test if you are deemed unprepared. At least five working days’ notice will be given unless the booking was made with shorter notice.

9. DVSA Test Cancellation (by DVSA)

If the DVSA cancels your test with less than 24 hours’ notice, your instructor may still charge the standard fee for the scheduled lesson or test appointment.

10. Damage to Vehicle During Test

If the tuition vehicle is damaged during your test and the repair cost is below the instructor’s insurance excess, you will be liable for the full cost of repairs.

11. Short Notice Driving Tests

If you already have a test booked and request to use a JavsDrivingSchool instructor or vehicle with less than three weeks’ notice and have had no prior instruction with us, additional charges will apply.

12. Behaviour Policy

Inappropriate, abusive, or unacceptable behaviour during lessons will not be tolerated. Your instructor may end the session immediately in such cases.

13. No Smoking Policy

Smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited in or around JavsDrivingSchool vehicles.

14. Equal Opportunities Statement

JavsDrivingSchool operates an equal opportunities policy and will not discriminate against any individual based on race, gender, disability, religion, or sexual orientation.

15. Dash Camera Use

Dash cameras may be in operation in our vehicles for safety, insurance, and training purposes. By attending
lessons with JavsDrivingSchool, you consent to in-car recordings unless you specifically opt out.

16. Mobile Phone Usage

JavsDrivingSchool operates a strict no phone usage policy during lessons to ensure your full attention and
safety.

Using a mobile phone while driving is illegal under UK law unless it is hands-free and does not distract the driver. You must not hold or interact with your phone for calls, messages, navigation, or any other reason while behind the wheel.

If you are expecting an important or emergency call, please inform your instructor before the lesson so arrangements (such as pulling over safely) can be made.

17. Insurance

JavsDrivingSchool instructors will ensure that the tuition vehicle is fully insured for driving lessons and practical driving tests. This insurance covers both you (the student) and the instructor for the duration of all lessons and tests.

You can be confident that the vehicle is legally compliant and properly covered before each session.

18. Loss or Damage to Personal Property

JavsDrivingSchool and its instructors are not responsible for any personal items lost or damaged during lessons. Please notify us promptly if anything is left behind.

19. Refund Policy for Block Bookings

We advise students to take at least two hours of instruction before committing to a package. Once a package is purchased, no refunds will be given for block bookings or intensive courses.

20. Taking the Driving Test Without Passing a Mock Test

You may still take your test without passing a mock if your instructor believes you have a fair chance of success.

21. Expiry of Block Bookings

Block booking lesson hours must be used within 6 months of the first recorded session. Any unused hours after this period may be forfeited.

22. Feedback and Complaints

We welcome feedback on your experience with JavsDrivingSchool. Any concerns should be raised directly with your instructor so they can be resolved quickly and fairly.

23. Social Media Use

Upon passing your test, JavsDrivingSchool may take a photo and collect a testimonial for use on our social media pages or school portfolio. If you do not wish to be included, please inform us in advance.
